i just set-up various galleries for customers on my new smugmug account. each gallery is password protected. however, upon logging out of my smugmug account to test each gallery to see what the customer sees, i am unable to add anything to the shopping cart! it says there is NOTHING to add to the shopping cart when there are obviously photos there that can be purchased. i can't find anything in the settings that could be causing this.

what the heck?

oh, and i must mention that i have a smugmug pro account... i don't see why the shopping cart should be an issue at all.

Check one of the gallery settings to make sure that prints are orderable. Other than that, check your pricing to make sure it's set for the gallery. Remember, if you don't have a price set for an item, it won't be available (I think--been a while since I played with pricing).

you make a good point. i believe i saw "gallery" pricing, but couldn't figure out how to set prices for it! (only how to set portfolio prices) now i think i am understanding it more and more. i just set gallery prices for a different gallery other than the one in my post above. i'm going to try applying the prices to all the galleries and see what happens. hope this fixes the issue.

creepclaws, I checked your example gallery and it is priced correctly except for the price you have set on the special items like canvas prints. They are showing the warning that the price you have set is below our default prices.

Samir, that is not exactly correct. If you do not price an item, it is for sale at the default price or portfolio if it is set. You must set any item you do not want to sell at 0.00 to block it.

creepclaws if you still have trouble, contact us on the help desk and we can dig further.

If you haven't set your portfolio pricing yet, you might want to also do that, especially if the pricing for those galleries will all be the same. Pricing will automatically default to the portfolio pricing for these galleries as well as any new ones you create if you don't set pricing for the individual gallery. That's why I don't exactly remember the pricing screen--even though I have thousands of galleries, they all run off my portfolio pricing. thumb.gif

I checked out the example gallery (hot! :D), and it seems like everything's working now. clap.gif

But I realize something now after all these years--SM's cart is quirky and non-intuitive. If I click on Buy-->Photos in this Gallery, I have to find the 'Change Product' button to change to a different item type. And if I just click on Buy-->This Photo, the list and scroll box is overwhelming. I can see where this would frustrate over 50% of my potential clients. :cry

I've heard people recommending to reduce the number of items available to purchase, and the number of sales go up. I may just have to try this.
