Viewing the screen in direct sunlight

I have a Sony HDR-CX160 and it is very difficult to follow the subject on the screen while recording in bright sunlight especially in sports while trying to capture an individual. I know others have the same difficulty with other cameras. Are there any suggestions?

There are a slew of viewfinders for just this purpose. You can end up spending quite a bit for the more advanced setups. Here's one option: http://zacuto.com/
