How to MOVE,BATCH and ONLINE,photos from MULTIPLE galleries into ONE SINGLE GALLERY ?

Hi,

Is there a Hack or some kind of tool that allows me to easily consolidate pictures from a bunch of different albums into one single album without having to enter each individual album online to move them ?

Lightroom doesn't do the trick for pictures that have been previously uploaded to SmugMug.

Not that I'm aware of - you go to each gallery, move the photos to the new gallery. I wish I had a better answer for you.

Hi Andy, is there a way I can order all my pictures on a CD/DVD (bunch of them) so I can do whatever I need offline and re-upload them all ? Too many galleries to try and do it one by one online. Please, let me know. Thanks ! Celso.

Why force us to enter gallery by gallery, one after the other if you want to re-organize your pictures from multiple galleries ? I have hundreds of galleries by event for which I would like to move the pictures into a gallery by year. Can't do that online right now, unless I go one by one...

I agree with you about the need, but if you'd like an alternative way to do this for now, here's an idea (maybe you've already thought of it): Make a bunch of new galleries, one for each year or whatever you want to do. Don't upload to them; instead, mark them as Smart Galleries. Then, bulk-add your years to the photos as keywords-- yes, this will still take a bit of work, but maybe a couple hrs instead of eons! Or bulk-add your own special keyword to them, say 1988special or whatever. (make sure it's a keyword that works; I can't recall current policy on numbers combined with words). Anyway, the main point is that you could then tell each Smart Gallery to auto-fill for that keyword. Your 1988 gallery will fill with all those photos with that keyword. Just remember that the Smart Gallery photos will retain the attributes of their original gallery, such as watermarking, captioning, public/private, etc. Hope this helps, but I realize there may be some reason this may not work for you.

Celso, you can easily download your galleries - just click the "download all" link in each gallery and you will get a zip file to download. No need to wait for an expensive CD or DVD. http://www.smugmug.com/help/backups
