I know, 70-300 tamron is not a contender for astrophotography, but I wanted to try again. Here's what I got:

20D, 1/5 sec f/32 at 300mm, MLU on.
Tripod lowered, remote shutter.
RAW, adjusted in Camera Raw.
Rutt's dual sharpening.

    Thanks!
Full moon I already tried. It's not as impressive, terminator adds more drama. I'll try half-moon though.
    Cheers!

PS We NEED the feedback on the post shootout, please check the thread!

I'm in Nor Cal....and I was staring at that same moon. Glad you captured it. Excellent job too. I'll have to pull out my old Nikon F2 and long lense to do that next time.

    Thanks!iloveyou.gif

The good thing - skies are clear and moon is young. In a few days (on a 10th) we'll have half-moon, which should yield even more picturesque image.

Darn, I just purchased 10-22 (an hour ago at FM) and now don't have funds even for 1.4 extender, let alone smth like 400 mm :cry Oh wel, in due time:-)
