One of my co-workers had an extra ticket to the semi final match between USA and Panama last night. While I'm not a soccer fan the thought of the pictures I could take was more than enough to convince me to go!
I had to argue with the checkers at the gate in order to get my camera in but I won the argument because I had called ahead and was told as long as the lens is less than 12" I could bring it. Took a manager coming out and confirming before they would concede :)

Anyhow here are a few shots SOC. Any strike you as good enough to enter in place of my current entry? (the rodeo kid)

    Lucky you!

    #2 is so typical! The player on the ground, his teammate arguing with the ref, the US player indicating a dive. Perfect!

    The clarity and exposure on these are great. Can't really pick a favorite, they're all good, but maybe 3

    I'm not a soccer fan, but I think you did a great job with these :)

    For me the best of all is #3.

    These all look good - what a great opportunity! I like the comp in #3 best, but also like the interaction of the players in 4 & 6.

    We are a soccer family and so this is a fun series to see here! I like #2 and #7 best. It is so hard to get shots like this SOOC when you have so little control over what is entering or leaving the frame, and these seem to tell a story and have the least distractions at the perimeter of the frame. Would like #3 with its momentum and the shadows but find the fellow behind Sony a bit distracting... Hope that helps!

    #2 has the best soccer story, so it is my fave of the soccer shots.

    I like your current entry, also. The little cowboy is so cute. It seems a little dark to me, but that could be just my laptop.

    In your second set of soccer shots (other thread), I like the shadows of the players in #1. I could see that cropped so that it is just the shadows playing - unfortunately, not for this challenge.
