That is so awesome! Talk about a good hubby!

We're celebrating 4 years in August and I was thinking of getting my hubby a gun safe. I am feeling very inadequate!

I got him a woodworking class that consisted of a folded piece of paper with dates and locations on it...i felt kinda bad after :) but he did get a few real cool fathers day gifts to make up for it. ne_nau.gif

Definitely hit us with a high res version Nicole. That pick sucks! Great Idea on both your parts though. I have been into woodworking since my childhood because of my father and now that he is getting up there he and I don't do much of it any more. He and I just built a traditional "skin on frame" kayak a few months ago while I was visiting hime and it was a great experience for us. Woodworking is a wonderful past time and a great gift.

Congratulations on your anniversary! BTW, he seems like a KEEPER--what a GREAT gift--took some thought, planning, insight and devotion to pull that one off!!!

ok, i know i owe everyone a few pics but with 5 years of marriage comes a house, editing and two kids... (and useless internet searching and don't forget Facebook). So, i WILL post real photos soon.

But, if you look at the link in my original post you an zoom in and see a web version.

    How he did it...

Bought the software Mazaika (not sure if MAC only or not). Then crop 6,000 pictures into squares (thats what took the longest). The software does the arranging, and you decided how much of the background image shows through. I'm not exactly sure if you have to tell the software what pictures are what color, but i'm sure if you read about the program it will give you some more information.

He then got it printed on canvas and stretched at a local place here in Northern VA. Hung it on the wall and waited till i noticed it.

The original photo was actually a year after our wedding when we did a Trash the Dress shoot with a local Albany, NY photographer. He wanted something with a larger landscape, as those sorts of photos work better with the mosaic look.

What the hubby doesn't know is that we now have to repaint the room to match the picture...the gift that keeps on giving.

    I promise photos soon!

and thanks for the anniversary congrats. He really is a great guy...and yes, he loved his woodworking class credit and is signing up for his class next week.

Wow, that must have taken a couple of days or so to notice something that insignificant, eh? rolleyes1.gif

That's absolutely incredible. I think for our 5th we said "happy anniversary" and/or maybe gave each other a card. We're hopeless romantics, after all. iloveyou.gif
