A pair of pied oyster catchers at 135 mm. They usually wont let you get within a mile.

Always some tree rats about.

Darn labs will hump anything, won't they? :giggle

Nice pix, mungus. One of my girls was looking over my shoulder and commented that she'd seen a parrot like that at the zoo, only not as nice. Must be nice to have those critters in your backyard.

Funny you should post a picture of the Oyster Catchers, I saw a picture yesterday and had no idea what kind of birds they were.

Those Labrodiles are pretty harmless, give ya a bit of a scare when they jump out of the water, but they give them dolphins a run for the money rolleyes1.gif
I dunno if your allowed to feed them or not headscratch.gif I believe they are a protected species :D .........and those parrots........man you gotta love the colour of those birds, they are sooooooo pretty, saw heaps of them in Cairns.

Nice series of images Gus...... soon as this dang rain clears up and the computer system at work is running properly I'll get a chance to get out and get some Animal shots.......take care...... Skippy (Australia)

If you don't like 'em, we'll trade you some sewer rats for your tree rats?

Gus aka "birdman". :D Good shots especially the oystercatchers. You know you're a birder when you try to capture them at 135mm.

Thanks for looking guys, few more...i missed a whole CF card.

They are Rainbow Lorikeets & are absolutely EVERYWHERE here. I have about 10 of them outside my window now squaking. They are a typical parrot in that if they are bored ..they will do funny stuff to get a reaction out of you. These 2 slowly got closer & closer to me & started dancing in sync looking at me.

These 2 entertained us for ages whilst we had a picnic on the beach.

Thats the owner right there ..they went straight to him & got him out. Silly bit was that he would then jump straight back in ne_nau.gif thats a lab for you, only on the earth for fun.
