Nesting Mom

This is the female Grey Catbird on her nest. Notice her bright rufous undertail coverts. I mentioned this nest in a previous post. Apparently the female does all the nest sitting, though the male stays around and brings food. She is quite tolerant of my presence, but I tried not to bother her too much. I used my 28-300 zoomed to 300 with a 12mm extension tube. Also used my macro flash setup. 1/320 sec @ f/11 ISO 400 D700.

    Thank you both. I should mention that the shot of the hatchlings was taken before the one of the mom. I didn't scare her off the nest. If I'd done that, I might not have had the cojones to post the shots here. :D
