Found this photo that I took last year on a skiing trip to NZ.

Any comments would be welcome, I think the lights of the town are a bit overexposed , but I'm not sure if this can be fixed.

    Jesmol,

Sorry we all missed your photo, Queenstown is a pretty night shot to take. And you're right the lights look to be a little overexposed. If you have photoshope heres a useful tip on blending two exposures if you have the chance to reshoot.
Just take one shot that exposes the lights right and one that way ovrexposes them and gets the rest of the seen lit right, then blend them together. There are ways to do this in other photo editing programs but the layer mask method works quick and easy in photoshop.

Also if you have a big zoom on your camera there's a really nice overlook up the road towards Glenorchy a ways, ?maybe 5k or so? provides a great view, especially if you wait for the ferry to head down the lake.

Have fun, hope some of this helped,
    Jeff

Whoops, just noticed it was a ski trip, well the advice is sound, but maybe you won't get a chane to retry it for awhile...:D

It's a lovely scene but I agree that it's a little oe :uhoh
Jeff 's given good advice and if you shot the image in raw you may be able to take off 2 exposures (one for the sky and one for the fg) to try blending with. It also looks a little soft, did you use a tripod ?
