No slideshow with IE8

I've just upgraded to a new desktop using Win7 x64 bit with IE8 and I'm having problems with viewing slideshows and videos online. My old laptop used Win 7 x32 bit and IE7.
The slideshow that I've created on my Smugmug website front page will not view in IE8 whereas it did in IE7. There's now just an empty box.
This is obviously not a problem with Smugmug's software but with Windows. Is there any way of turning on the ability of IE8 to see slideshows or is there some software that I'm missing in my new setup?
I'm sure some-one will advise me to go back to IE7 or use a different web browser but if IE8 isn't working for me then it may be the same for others viewing my webiste.

Thanks for the reply Andy. I've just found out that I'm using IE8 x64 bit and there's no Flash support for that version yet. I've switched to x32 bit which also came with the desktop and all is well again.
It's time that Adobe supported x64 bit Windows.
