coolpix 5700 filters

I have a Nikon Coolpix 5700 camera and am considering buying filters but after searching this site and other web resources I remain completely confused as to the best way to go. I have concerns about the mounting setups and basic quality of those few that I can find.

I know the camera is already sorely out of date but it's what I got and I am not about to upgrade quite yet.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have this camera myself. I purchased the HN-CP11 hood. It screws right into threads on the lens, and allows the use of any 77mm filters. Nikon makes a set of filters for the Coolpix including a UV, CP, and two ND filters. The only drawbacks to the hood are possible vignetting at full wide with a filter attached, and that you really can't use the built in flash with the hood as it causes bad shadowing. The hood and filter make the camera look really manly though.:)

I also bought the portrait/battery grip, which takes 6 NiMH AA batteries and I feel gives much longer batter life and seems to provide faster flash recharge:
