In Honor of the upcoming 4th of July and the terrific pictures posted by Justiceiro I want to share these.

My WWII Veteran neighbor is almost 90 years old. He dropped out of school and lied about his age so that he could enlist into the Marines at the age of 17.

He recently received a disc of scanned images from the son of a soldier he served in the Pacific with.

A lot of these were shot by a skilled photographer with a great eye and others are just snapshots.

I hope you enjoy.

Here are the images.

    Oh my gosh!
    What a treasure.

I just went from watching a war movie and got sidetracked on dgrin and so glad I did, the movie was forgotten.

I will be scrolling through these numerous times.

You are very lucky to be able to hold these and and work on them and put them together for your neighbor--a gift for you both and I'm lucky to be part of it:)

Thank you for this great share.
