Howdy All,

Stopped by where they build the eco-friendly Earthships.

Interesting concepts, using old recyclable materials, and
solar and passive solar power.

Thanks for looking.

What an interesting looking building. Can one go inside or is it somebody's home?

    Thanks for sharing.

    Howdy Richard,

This particular one is there Model/Office, they have a community of
them in the Taos Area, and also they give classes to those that
want to either build their own or learn the technique.

Here's a link for a little more info.

Wonderful rendering of a fascinating place.thumb.gif There's an incongruity in the design of this particular model that puts me off a little, but one of these built to my own taste looks to be a concept I could easily live with.

I can always depend on you, Craig, to find interesting subjects to shoot.

    Take care,

    Tom
I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

    Howdy Tom,

Thanks, It really was a neat place, and I was so looking forward to
the tour and learning more about this style of architecture and building.

The 5 dollar charge wasn't too bad, but they didn't really put a whole
lot of effort in presenting their concept. If we'd been really interested in
having one built, after the cool reception, we'd of looked elsewhere. This
kind of building and construction has always interested me, and especially now when the cost of heat and cooling is so expensive this is basically
self-sufficient. The part that breaks the design is kind of the Visitor Center inside.
I remember when we visited the Bio-Sphere in AZ when the people were
supposedly in there for a year. It was a really neat place as well, and
for it's time was pretty cutting edge.

Might be something for a nice Mountain Homestead<G>
    Take care,
