Slideshow issues

For some reason, I cannot get the slideshow on my home page to run on my main computer. I know it works on other computers & even runs okay when I'm logged in as an admin on this computer, but not when I'm logged in without admin rights. I have made sure that this computer has the most current Adobe Flashplayer. I'm running IE9 32-bit. Suggestions? Thanks :)

Not to hijack this thread, but I'm also having slide show issues with my home page. On Chrome, it's fine. But, on IE9, all I see is a red x. I wonder if min and the OP's issue are the same? Can anyone help?

I've noticed IE9 having some issues with SM sites (from the postings on dgrin), so it's probably a quirk with IE9.

Rule of thumb, if it works on other browsers/computers, it's not an issue at SM. thumb.gif

I see both slideshows for Kory and lkbart on IE9 so this isn't a generic Smugmug problem.

I'd suggest clearing your browser cache, then shutting down all instances of IE9 and restarting. If that doesn't help, then reinstall Adobe Flash and make absolutely sure you're running 32-bit IE9 because Flash doesn't work with 64-bit IE9.

It seems to be working fine now. There were lots of reports of slideshows not working this morning around the time you posted. Since nobody went in and mucked with all of your code at the same time, we can only assume that Smugmug must have had a temporary site issue this morning that affected slideshow (probably because the SM API wasn't operating properly) and the issue has since been fixed or resolved itself.

I understand that the issue I am having is not a Smugmug issue. I believe it is a privilege, rights or security issue on my computer, since the slideshow plays fine when I am logged in as an administrator. When I am logged in without admin rights, it doesn't run in IE9 nor in Firefox. I have gone through all the settings under the Tools:Internet Options:Advanced tab & the Security:Custom settings & have all the Active X settings enabled. There's just got to be something I'm missing. Or do I have to be logged in as an administrator in order for Adobe flashplayer to work?
