Problems with "accents" in smugmug.

Hello all,

Recently when I'm uploading a new gallery and writing the comments, it doesn't recognize the accents anymore.

I have gallerys uploaded a time ago that have accents in the name or comments field. But since a few weeks ago, every accent i write when i save it it converts in something like this:

Ó goes into Ó

My first language it's spanish, so the accents are requiered to write correctly.

What can I do? :dunno

As I tell you, this is from a few weeks ago, ALL my other gallerys have Accents in words and are ok. But all the new ones I create doesn't recognize it.

    There's already a thread going on about this. The Smugmug team has been working on a fix for quite some time. Have a look here.

    Hope they'll soon find a fix for this.

    Made a lot of progress tonight on this bug, keep your fingers crossed.

    I already said it in the other thread - I would be nice if you could fix the existing comments with the messed up characters. Maybe doing this by create some kind of search&replace script for the time the problem existed.
    If you can do this, everybody has to send in a list with wrong characters and what they should look like, I guess. (just look in your control panel - there you can list all your comments and look for wrong characters)
    I'll start with this:

    ö = ö (from this photo)

    Looks like I don't have any more comments with this problem, yet. rolleyes1.gif

    You may sometimes have some accent in writing - I never can tell where to put accents at all (doesn't matter if it's German or English). In my dgrin beginning I thought you were from the UK for some reason. :D

    UPDATE - many characters seem to work - try out your own and post the results in this thread
