A sleepy miner bee

Found this miner bee apparently sleeping on a weed stem the other day right next an area grass where I know there are quite a few miner bee nest holes. Took some pics and then encouraged it to warm up on my thumb.
I'm guesing it may be a male which presumably do not have "mines" to go to at night.
