Quadra with Radiopoppers problem

I have tried using this setup several times with no success. The RP would fire the Quadra and I do see the light pop, however my camera shows no difference between an ambient only shot and the shot with flash.

My theory is that the radio popper triggers the flash after the camera shutter has closed.

Has anyone run into this problem before?

I presume you are talking about using an Elinchrom Ranger Quadra with a Radio Popper wireless set. You don't describe which Radio Popper setup but I'm not sure it matters.

Radio Popper is designed to communicate all of the signals from the camera's hot shoe to a compatible dedicated flash. I don't believe that the Elinchrom Ranger Quadra is able to handle the signals you are sending and the system is just basically incompatible.

Either use a simpler radio master and slave system or disable the extra contacts of the Radio Popper system, leaving only the center and ground on both ends. (I am not sure if this is safe for the Radio Poppers so I definitely recommend the purchase of a simpler radio system.)
