Trying out lighting and flash

I have decided to start palying with lighting, off camera flash, and stuff other than wildlife and sports. I got some umbrellas, stands, and other stuff to use my 580's and these are the first real attempt at it. My wife was nice enough to be the guinea pig.

welcome to the world of off camera flash, it's so addicting. I'm not an expert and learning everyday myself. I'm not on my good monitor, but 1 and 3 seem a bit under exposed. I noticed the flash on camera left is really low for some reason. Most will tell ya to have lights at like the 10-11 oclock and 1-2 oclock positions. On the second one, your background seems extremely bright.

That's my 2 cents from I have learned over time. So much yet to learn, sculpting with lighting and all the various lighting. I might have to find a mannequin or something to keep practicing with.
