Just picked up my D300 fresh in from the Nikon repair center. It looks brand new. Nothing against the D7000 but I still prefer the control layout of the D300. It was having some issues with AF psychosis. It did have 130000 + shutter cycles. Now it has all new rubber and top plastic, mirror mechanism.
Now to go out and play with my old pal and see what he can do.
Thanks Nikon Repair center:lust

It's always nice getting stuff back from the repair factory. You sort of relive how it was to get it brand new again :)

So how much was the tune up on the 300?

$244.00 I will scan the list of all the things done. I think it was a good value for work done. So far the camera is working flawlessly.

The Nikon folks do a good job with the equioment they repair. I'll be sending in my D300 shortly for a pre-Africa check-up.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Yes I had been putting it off because I had the D7000 but I had 2 weddings coming up in Sept figured the D300 would be more suitable for a backup than the D50 which is still capable and in reserve.
