Haven't imaged fireworks for several years.
Thought I would give it a another go since it has been way too long
I usually like to just watch since I feel like I miss the show if I concentrate on taking pictures.

We had quite a display off our back deck out on the edge of town but nothing like these .

Our near location to the depot is loaded with large trees. Great for shade but blocks most of the lower shells from the park on the 4th. Only had to lug my small pack of gear a few blocks to get up front location. Which surprisingly enough had a nice spot at good distance with no trees open for me to set up around lots of nice folks. Felt really lucky about that.

We too really like the dunes area. You remember the hot no doubt. Well, its getting there We amateur astronomers like to tell people while viewing from there during the daytime sun... "not only can we show you the sun but we can make you feel like your there too"
They put on a nice show.
