How to advertise my photography business?

I need some suggestions as to the best way to advertise my photography business? So far, I've been receiving business by word of mouth and through clients. Do you use Facebook, Twitter, etc?

Who are your potential clients?
Where are your potential clients?

Marketing is based on those two questions. What works for someone else may not work for you.

It would probably help to know what type of photos you take. I use Facebook and Twitter and gained an exhibition of my work a couple of months ago because of a Facebook connection. I share my photos online at Facebook (low resolution and watermarked).
