new lens post- test shots

received the 85 1.8 today for my early bday present! i was nervous about whether i'd be happy with it or not but turns out im pretty excited about it! the length will take some getting used to for sure.

some test shots, not really worth much photographic merit but here they are:
(all are shot wide open)


1. one of the first shots, a touch of green fringing but i'm satisfied with the sharpness

so there it is. its no 1.4 but i dont think its too shabby! Daniel the moment i turn this hobby into a second income that will be one of my first investments ;)

    The lens will produce CA at the wide end. I generally like my 85 1.8 from 2.0 to 2.8 on the open end. At 4.0 to 8.0 you will be able to see a fleas eye lashes.

    Depending on the distance to your subject and the distance of the background you can get a nice background blur and limited DOF at 2.0 to 2.8 while maintaining a good sharp image.

    One of my favorite lenses. You seem to have a pretty good grasp on it. Nice shots.
