I contacted a very good make-up artist to shoot for both our portfolios. We had a stylist to to spice things up. I shot two models and here's the first one. Feel free to comment and critique icon_wink.gif

I like all three. Nice use of color and styling. The fact that I can't see the eyes in #3 doesn't bother me since it makes those lips the focal point. Beautiful and elegant model.

Thank you, that was my aim in number 3.

I am most interested in your lighting, I'm on that cliff face right now!eek7.gif I like it in ##1 & 3, not so much in #2 because of the heavy chin shadow. I like the very soft wrap around look, and especially that there is no hotness anywhere. Very much suits this kind of shot. Well done!

Skin colour is not "legit"mwink.gif , seems like high blue is the colour of the moment. I like it, but haven't tried it. What worries me is that I might get to be able to do it just when the trend has moved on!ne_nau.gif Any tips you can give about your skin tone method, please?

I'm not fond of the lollipop mu style on this graceful model, and I'm also not fond of the face posing style which she uses - slack mouth, suffering eyes, the general mood of malaise. Together with the bue skin tinge it makes me think first aid is in order. But once again it's the trend. Leave me outta that one!:D

Hi Neil, glad you like them.
For skin colour I do as much as possible in the raw file adjusting everything that relates to colour in lightroom. Then, after retouching, I mostly use curves and colour balance in photoshop.
I'm not sure what you mean by lollipop :p

In Lr so you mean you use the rygcbpm sliders?

And in Ps curves do you adjust individual channel curves?

    Thanks.

1 is ok. I like the color mix and light in 2.
My favorite is 3, I appreciate a little mystery.

Love 3. Those lips are cool and I like the composition. I think 1 is well captured but not so keen on the styling itself and the slack- jawed pose. Camera work good styling and pose not so good.. For me!

#3 and the last one are my favorites, it would be cool to work with a MUA one day

Thanks for the critique Oscar. Wolf, just contact them and explain your intentions, surely someone will agree to a time for photos sort of thing if you can pull the rest of the work off.

I've found it hard to get a good TF, MUA. They are either booked solid with paying work or have been very picky about the model.. I think I finally have it sorted - keeping my fingers crossed..

Why not allow the MUA to take care of the model ? One less thing for you to worry about mwink.gif
