May I ask you what was the reason behind this thought?

While your new consideration is appealing in many ways, I stand partial to your original entry... :D

What about making the second one kind of Van Gogh looking?

I just thought I'd play a little bit with a skewed angle and see how that compared with my current entry. ne_nau.gifheadscratch.gif

I too think that your current entry is more powerful theme wise and artistically.

Thanks, Tatiana. I found a van Gough PS tutorial on line and tried running it on the photo. It's a pretty neat effect and I'm going to play with that some more!

But I guess I'll stay with the original entry. :D

    Cool :)

You can obtain the VG effect and some others with Pixel Bender (an extension of CS5), like this quick one:

Sorry, but I couldn't resist to try it...

However, I'm not sure of the broken rules on the sunflowers - maybe I'm just missing something headscratch.gif

I also prefer the current entry. The flower seems to over-processed (to me). I know what it's like to second guess at the end. Torture!

I also had some fun with PixelBender on that shot. :D As far as broken rules for the shot -- the bee is dead center and the horizon is tilted.

Yes, the second guessing IS torture. rolleyes1.gif

Thanks for the nod on the current entry. :D

Although I'm a sucker for all flowers, especially sun flowers, I think your first entry is more interesting and artsy, especially for this challenge. (I like the Van Gough effect on photos, but in the end, I never really use it - maybe because I'm more about the actual capture at this stage). GP

Another vote for your current entry for this challenge. The sunflower photo is really nice though. The VG effect is pretty cool but am partial to the original sunflower photo, just not for this challenge.

When in doubt... stick with the first instinct. Another fan of the current entry!
