One of my favorite shoots so far, just because I like the subject so much.
This is my Grandfather. Former Navy, Retired Electrical Estimator, loving life in Alameda, Ca.

580EXii on 6' Pearstone eTTL cord shot through umbrella camera upper left set on manual at 1/2 power, 550EX shot through umbrella camera right at 1/8 power

What do you think?

Both brought a smile to my face and a little warmth in my heart. Well done!

Number 1 is great, number 2 needs brighter light on your grandfather. Overall I really like these.

awesome, some shadows could use a itty bitty tad of light, even though I know that was intended, mostly on his lower face in #2. It is almost too much contrast inho. but is it brilliant in everyway, you should be proud in more than one way!!

Agree with above!!! No 1 has awesome character--what does he think about that one, does he like it?
No 2 is a meaningful composition, really setting him in context. I love both!!
