am i crazy?

i'm waaaaaaaay behind on my mac at home. still running 9.2. i've been spending my time on my computer at work. now i'm ready to get up to speed at home. here's my question, am i nuts to upgrade to tiger on my g4 500mhz? i plan on maxing out the ram at 1.5 gb. and getting an external hardrive. i would really like to wait and spend the big money on a laptop when i can.

any thoughts?
