Essential piece of kit with one rig (as per attached pic) and also now being used ( - like earlier tonight in back garden) with my macro setup.

    dimensions ? 350 x 225mm
material ? lower part of a child's waterproof (over) trouser leg ... some sort of nylon (might have a tag somewhere on the remaing bit) ... cost £1 in a Jan sale :)
filling material ? 2.6kg mixed bird food (seeds)

A fellow (local) 'tog who also makes sails for his canoes, sewed up one end and sewed heavy duty velcro on the other.

I change the filling every now and then - and, surprise, surprise ... feed the birds with it :)

Depends on your setup, but unlikely to need one quite as big for dedicated macro purposes, I'd have thought?

I have two bags of supermarket barley inside a ziplock bag. Cost, about $1.50. Use it all the time. It's a bit on the small side, but my rig isn't large. Maybe 8 inches square. Portable though.

Whilst it wasn't a particularly conscious thought at the time, when I cut off the bottom of the trouser leg - more a case of eyeballing / 'that'll do' - with use, I've come to appreciate the fact that the bag is rectangular, rather than square, since it offers a different option in use.
