I just got back from our trip. It was a great trip. I took my 24-105mm and a 14mm prime (wanted to travel light). If I had to do it all over again I would DEFINITELY take a Tilt Shift lens for the architecture and all the historic buildings. My 14mm did a good job for landscapes but it was pretty bad for the buildings. I'll try to post some images showing the effects of such a wide lens on structures.
