spotted these two youngsters up near Salmon La Sac in the Washington Cascades this past weekend... mom was nearby, but these two seemed much more interested in me than she did. they still had a bit of the shaggy winter coat, so they look a bit disheveled. i'd left my long lens at home, since i'd planned landscape shooting, so all i had were my 17-35 and 24-135... :bash i had to sneak up on 'em to get this shot from about 40 feet away. took a dozen or so shots, only a couple really came out well - the 24-135 isn't stabilized, and even at ISO 800 the best i could get was 1/50, even shooting wide open and -1EV... anyway, i thought this one came out well...

Lovely capture. Very ince work especially considering the less than ideal shooting conditions and equipment. I had a similar problem in Alaska when I went out with my 28-70 expecting to do landscapes and then ran into a young black bear.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

    Lovely shot!
The background really makes this shot stand out, to my eyes at least.
