Sunset at the Maryland side of Great Falls. The Potomac River fills from water from these rapids.

Canon 5D Mark II, 14-24mm/2.8G
2 exposure manual blend. one exposure for the water and sky, one for the rock and trees.

C&C welcome!

I really like the rock formations and the river leading me through your image. If I were to try something slightly different I might have moved to the left or right and turned myself in order to have the water empty into one of the bottom corners rather than almost going straight down the middle. Nice capture as it.

thanks doug! maybe shave some canvas off of the left? the way i composed it, i felt as if the water was passing by on the left, balanced by the high tree on the top right of the frame

I love this shot. I've still never been to Great Falls but the dramatic stormy sunset sky is something I associate so much with the area's summers.

Love the exposure. great dynamic range. what adaptor did you use for your Canon-Nikon? Does the AF work?

hi chris... i use a fotodiox adapter with AF confirm... but ive found the AF confirm is only somewhat accurate and I dont use it much. i spend so much time setting up the shot, including setting aperture, that relying on my eye for focus isnt so bad.
