This is just a little south of Fresno, Ca. Back in the 50's this station used to be called Air-Gas. Over the years the station has changed hands a few times and peices of the plane have been stolen, sold off, etc...

Thout a few of you might enjoy seeing this.

Advertising in the 50's was unique. There are still a few landmarks left. There's a big donut that comes to mind and the famous hot dog stand in the shape of a hot dog.

Now that looks like Fresno nouveau art!clap.gif It's so old it's new....;~)
Lots of cool stuff to photograph in the mid valley. I get up there a few times a year to see relatives in Visalia, and there sure are some different creativity there. Maybe its because they have alot of space and are very earthy people.

My mom claims that the valley was a haven in the '40's for the migrants of the midwest that were poor, and just wanted to live in a warmer, farm area. [her included]. They made do with what they had, and never wasted a thing!

That plane certainly wasn't wasted, turning it into an art deco.thumb.gif
