Cappadocia, Turkey
I had a chance to visit Cappadocia, Turkey. This place is magical. It looks , at times, like something out of Lord of the Rings.
We arrived at our "cave" hotel. This was a very interesting place with some cool views.
The restaurant
The Lobby,reception
The accommodations
Some of the views
We then went to a look out to watch the sun set.
There was a near by open air archeological museum. The history of these villages built into the rock formations is fascinating.
The inside of this church was astounding. Pardon the WB, I had to shoot with out a flash under very dim light.
Some of the other rooms we interesting as well. It's amazing that they lived like this.
Then at sunrise we went on a hot air balloon ride. Along with many others.
We then went to one of the underground cities. They were an amazing architectural feat. This one went down 7 stories.
The entrance.
Getting around in tight places. This place is not for people with fears re. small places.
.
Our fabulous tour guide.
Outside there were more interesting formations and villages.
Thanks for looking. Sorry for so many pics. I had a hard time sorting. As always any CC is always welcome.
