Shaun White skateboarding in Ocean City Maryland Thursday.......warming up for the Dew Tour. I have never shot skaters before, lot of out of focus shots as the old lens (80-200) searched.......but got a few keepers. The sky was very hazy which made for a "photoshopped" look kinda cool.

Nice shots. Amazing how a multi-millionaire can look like such a dirt bag, eh? That outfit he's wearing probably costs more than you'd think.

I think these look really good. One thing I would say though is sometimes it's a good idea to shoot wider and get the lip of the ramp in the shot. I can say as someone that used to skate, looking at the first 2 photos, theyre really good but the trick itself becomes less impressive if you can't see how high he's flying off the ramp. I'm not saying only do one or the other, but mix it up. Also, especially in vert skating where they do lots of spin tricks (360s, 540s etc), I think sequence shots are really important too so you can 'prove' it was a 540. With just one frame you can't tell the difference between a 180 and a 720.
Maybe you did these things and just didn't post them here, I don't know, but those would be the only suggestions I have if you do it again.

Molotov, I agree with what you noted........but without a photographers pass I had to shoot from quite a distance and felt the wide angle approach was probably well covered by others. The event was sold out and I only got to shoot these on the warm up day when it was free to get in. I had a lot of fun, the excitement of the crowd was infectious! Thanks for the comments everyone.
