Stormy Weather

Its been a weird summer in the Northwest, hardly a summer at all! I wanted to capture some images this last week while out and about, and decided not to let the rainy weather deter me. These are a few shots I was relatively happy with. I also experiemented with some new things in post processing. Any thoughts on how to make shots like these better, I'm all ears to learn!

This was taken overlooking the Columbia River. I really liked how still the water was and tried to make the most of the view and dark conditions. Any suggestions on how to lighten the picture up in post processing without making it look phoney?

This was taken just at sunset in Anacortes, Washington. I wasn't even sure if I would see the sun break through the clouds, but caught just a glimpse of color.

I love landscape photography, but am still in the very beginning stage of learning. Eager to get better!
