One last image. This creature was rescued and on loan from the Humane Society. It has a damaged wing and cannot fly.

Very nice Ziggy. Excellent full frame capture of a magnificent bird. I would have knocked the exposure down a tad. Its almost glaring on my monitor.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Right Harry, I can do better. :):

This is after a curves adjust to hold back the exposure, especially the highlights, and 2 USM adjustments to bring out detail, fine and edge, and then noise reduction to get the file size down without affecting too much of the true detail or dimensional size.

Lovely shot Ziggy and nice PP work. thumb.gifthumb The head appears just a tad too bright still, may be just me though.

    Ziggy,
I'm with Steve on this one. It's better, but still too bright IMO. It's a nice shot of this regal looking bird thumb.gifthumb.gif Nice and close too iloveyou.gif

2nd one you've done well with it
Lots of detail in the body, and have brought it down (exp. wise) well. Really probably can't get much more?

    Yep, it's bright. (Too bright)
    Sorry all, I agree.

Unfortunately, this exposure is too far to the right and if I pull it anymore in software, I don't get anymore detail, so it looks unnatural. I just blew the exposure is all, and it's a JPEG, so there's really no further recovery.

I live 3 hours away, and it's probably going to be another 2 months before I make that journey, and I won't be going to the zoo. Ah well, there's always next year.

Thanks for all the comments. They are appreciated.
