I like the idea of announcing a new gallery on facebook, but I would really prefer to create my own message to go along with the url instead of the blatant advertisement for SmugMug that most of my customers don't recognize. Any chance?

Try setting a gallery description before you share the gallery. It should use that instead of our default message then.

    Here's how it works:

we use your gallery description if you have one.
we use your sitewide meta (cp, settings tab) if you don't have a gallery description
we use our meta if you have none of the above

I find it much simpler to copy the Smugmug gallery url and paste it in the FB
message box. Wait till it generates and select a thumb. Then click on that big
blob of text to delete it and type in whatever you want. Also delete the originally
    pasted in link.

    Thanks!
Many thanks everyone for the assist. I haven't used the gallery description much and was thinking of doing so. This pretty much locks it in that I'll use it. I also like the idea of deleting and typing, but I figure I may use the same gallery for two or three notices on FB over a period of days, and I want the message to be consistent. I can't depend on my mind or my typing to do that at this stage. Laughing.gif!

    Thanks again!
