Sub-categories/galleries two levels?

I'm trying to restructure my site & for example, would like to do the following:
I had a category called Holidays.
I now want Holidays to be a subcategory within the 'Us' category.
I created a gallery called holidays in the 'Us' category & wanted to move all my holiday galleries within that gallery (like a sub-gallery). Couldn't figure out how to do that, so ended up creating a subcategory presently called 'Holidays-test'. I was able to move all my holiday galleries into 'holidays-test, but it now shows up separately as a subcategory rather than lined with the other 'Us' galleries., which I don't want.
How best to approach this issue? I'm assuming it's impossible to create sub-galleries, correct? If this is correct, is it possible to have that presently-named subcategory (Holidays-test) look like a regular gallery to visitors, i.e., have it in the same row as the other Us galleries? If so, how to accomplish this?
I want to do this with a number of categories/galleries so, hopefully, if I can figure out this one, I can do the rest. For example, I will want to create a Rustem gallery (really a subcategory within 'Us") & then move Rustem through the years, Rustem business, etc. within Rustem.
All very confusing, but I do need help with this. Thanks.

Our gallery structure works like this:
category > subcategory > gallery (containing photos)
You can't add any further levels or add galleries within a gallery.
What you need to do is create a subcategory within your "Us" category. You can do that via the control panel > customize tab > subcategory option. It's further explained here:

After creating the subcategory, you can assign existing galleries to it. You can re-assign a gallery via the gallery settings screen. That'll allow you to pick any existing category / subcategory to put the gallery in. Read more on gallery settings here:

Galleries and subcategories are displayed in separate sections within a category. There's a way to combine them via advanced customizations. Check out 6) of this post:

It's a tutorial on how to combine both sections. If you have any questions on the tutorial, you can post them on the thread where you found the code on. Customization helpers and heroes can then assist you with your questions on that particular advanced customization.
