For those who don't know, Raw Therapee is freeware/donationware image processing and image editing software. While it does indeed work on RAW image files it can also load other common image file formats (JPG, TIF, etc.)

I've been testing some of the beta versions and speed is greatly improved for modern Intel multi-core processors. Older single core Intel processors are also supported. (It may also work fine for other processors, but I don't have any other processor types to test it on.)

This software has some tricks and options not available even with Photoshop.

Windows, Mac OSX and Linux are supported, with some versions available in both 32 and 64 bit.
