I just recently bought a used canon 28-70/2.8 offline and recieved it today, after some test shooting with it I realized that even if I put it on manual focus it still was auto focusing. Any ideas on what would cause this? Also I shoot on a 7D

Ah, you bought it offline? I hear that's better than online, correct? How was the shopping experience?

Sorry, couldn't resist :D. As for the AF/MF thing, maybe the switch isn't attached to whatever's under it? If you bought it from an individual, you may want to contact them. If from a store, then they probably have a return policy, at least for items that are (partially) broken.

I will contact them, I just didn't know if it was a known problem anyone else had. And I meant I bought online lol.

I am unaware of a switch on the body for canon?

Canons don't have a switch on the body. It's just a setting on the screen. The AF setting display just goes off when the lens is set to MF.
