Recent photo issue

I have it set for 6 thumbs on my homepage. It only shows me four. When I change my setting to 8 I'm not getting six. Can someone help me? Right now it's set to six thumbs.

    I got it to show 6 by specifying 8 eek7.gif

    Ya, so weird. FWIW, it was working fine thru my uploads yesterday and this morning with my final upload it went wonky.
