Glacier and Waterton Lakes

Last week I made my first real trip to Glacier National Park, and also hopped across the border to Waterton Lakes for day. Here are some of my favorites from the trip.

#1 - Sunrise at Two Medicine:

#2 - Lightning and the Prince of Wales Hotel. This is my *first* lightning photo, west of the Cascades in Seattle thunderstorms are very rare.

the abstract #5 is stupendous and I like how the hotel seems lit up as a consequence of the lightning. Great catch.

Very nice series of shots. I have to say the first two really stand out. The colors and light in #1 are outrageous. Must have been amazing to see in person. And number 2 works very well with the pano crop and the composition.

Great stuff, Ron. That first one is epic.

Second one is killer as well. I also like the muted colors in that Palouse shot. Looks like retirement is continuing to suit you well.

Thanks everyone! As always I had a fun time out there shooting, and they even let me into Canada for a day without too much hassle (Alberta must have lower standards than BC!).
