This chap was a long way from home when he got washed up on the beach on the North Island of New Zealand a few weeks ago.
Luckily for him, he was rescued and is now recovering in Wellington Zoo.
My wife got this shot of him on our local beach using the Canon SX100, on auto.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Thanks. She was lucky, as later that day they took him to the Zoo.
He had been eating sand and driftwood !

Heard about this fellow on the news. Glad to hear that he's being looked after! Also glad that your wife had a camera handy. That's a great capture!

They are hoping to get him back to Antarctica by the end of August.
