Recently took the ride out to the Isles of Shoals from Portsmouth, NH. These are a small group of islands located about 6 miles off the coast of NH and Maine. The main areas are Star Island, about 46 acres and contains an old hotel and Appledore Island, largest at 96 acres is now a marine laboratory area run by Cornell. White Island contains one of the two lighthouses on the coast of NH. The islands are split between NH and Maine.
Even though it was midday, I found some interesting things to photograph, and worked some up into B&W.
#1 White Island Light
This lighthouse had some very interesting features. There used to be a covered walkway from the lighthouse to the lighthouse keeper's house but it was destroyed in a Nor'easter a few years ago. You can see some of the residue.
#2 Star Island Graveyard
I was drawn to this composition, especially with the harbor in the background.
#3 Seaweed in B&W
#4 Wind Swept Grass
Thanks for looking. Others can be found here...

Thanks, Schmoo. Definitely a lot of different opportunities, especially on the coast. I'm finding the seaweed to give some interesting textures, especially in B&W.
