Blocking Google Image Search

Since Google Image Search allows right click downloads even on protected galleries, I wanted to use some code to prevent google from indexing my images. I know I need to use:
User-agent: Googlebot-Image
Disallow: /
but don't know where to put it. Do I need to create a robots.txt file or can I do it through the advanced customizer with a meta tag?
Thanks!

I'm all for people finding my gallery pages through Google; I'm not a fan of how the Google Image Search has a pop-up of images that people can right-click and save.

From the help page at http://help.smugmug.com/customer/portal/articles/93342:
You're limiting access to watermarked images with the largest size of Large, so you do have that level of protection. But it's easy to grab the images from the browser cache.

Brian, you can't manually edit the robots.txt for your SmugMug site. It's provided by us and you can't manually exclude certain user agents. You can only disallow search engines as a whole via the "hello world" gallery / control panel setting.
