Hi you'll,

Just the latest installment of my serie sof pics on our Black-bellied Whistling Ducks and their ducklings. We started out with 24 ducklings in July and currently are holding at 9 surviving ducklings. I previously posted pics of them here and here and here and here
Now here are the latest shots of them. You can see that they have now lost all their earlier banding and are starting to look like their parents.

They are also emulating their parents' actions

they are in constant motion

and just a lot of fun to watch

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

    Harry,

Really nice series and nice to hear that 9 are still with us thumb.gifthumb.gif As Ric points out, it could have been 0 :cry 9 out of 24 is close to my shooting average.....Laughing.gif OK, so it's closer to 1 out of 24 ne_nau.gif

I really enjoyed the mimicing duckling shots. Like they are trying to say "hey, lookit me, I'm all growed up".......lol

Thanks a lot Ric. I agree about the 9 not being bad. Last year we started out with two parents and 12 ducklings. At the end of the season there was only one duckling and one parent surviving.

    Hey Ben,

Thanks for the kind words. Irs been fun following these guys around the last few months. I'm thrilled that so many are surviving at this point they are doing much better than last year.

Thanks Nick. I do check this guys out first when I hit the wetlands. I am always relieved when I see that there have been no casualties since my last visit.
