Is the 10D compatible with the 10-22 EF-S?

If not, I need to rent a lens, and I have no clue if there's any EF zooms that go wider than the 16-35 or the 17-40...

If only the store rented sigma...

no, the 10d is not compatible with the ef-s 10-22.

you can get the 15 fisheye, the 14L, the sigma 12-24 (aka popeye).

I've been hired to take photos of a new pamplet rack that they're installing at a hotel nearby, and some people "posing" taking some of these pamphlets...

    What would your load-out be?

I'm going to rent a light or two as well, do you have any thoughts? I'd rather not go with strobe... Thinking maybe some small spotlights or something...

*grin* now look what you've gotten yourself into by answering my first question mwink.gif

what's the widest lens you own or have access to now? ear.gif

i'd use an on camera flash, 550ex, say - with a 420ex off to the side - you possibly could rent these as well - your best bet would be to use some umbrellas, too... not sure if this is too much for you or not. hot lights are going to be too distracting imo.

I'll either rent a 17-40 or go wider if required... I think 25mm is wide enough, and at 25$/day.

My equipment's in my sig. I have a Sigma 500 Super DG, so I can trigger off-camera flashes with it, but I don't own a light meter.

    Scott,
I'm pretty sure your roommate has a light meter.

    Just a heads up.

Doug's light meter is for film... doesn't work with flash photography. Ambient light only.

    Scott,

If space is really cramped, you can bounce lights from white table-covering (draped, hung or taped to a wall) or foam-core boards. Foam-core also makes great reflector material for fill and the black foam-core makes pretty good flag material too.

Your "kit" lens will even do for smaller sized shots if you can get it to f8 or so. The wide end is reasonably sharp at smaller apertures. A couple of quick test shots should tell the tale.
