It's been ages since I've photographed landscapes. The past several days we've had thunderstorms, but last night was one of the best displays I've seen a long time.

This is my favorite image from last night

Twin bolts

This bolt just looks like a hot mess to me! :wink

Awesome! Now I am really ticked that I get missed down where my house is. :cry

    Very nicely captured!

Great stuff. That last one would have been amazing as a closeup with the silhouettes of the cactus. Can you go back and shoot it over ha :).

Wow!! Usually you just get lucky to get some good lightning bolts in the photo... you managed to get great clouds, good composition AND killer lightning! Awesome.

Agreed, not only is the lightning spectacular, but the clouds and foreground are fantastic! Must have been quite the experience witnessing this. I've never been in a lightning storm that even approaches the intensity of the one you captured.

Cornflake, I just manual focus to infinity.

Thanks, Cameron. The storm took place down the street from my house and I had remembered a group of saguaros near the road. I just got lucky that the bolts from this one stayed in the frame.

Thank you, Ron! the storm was moving parallel to me and I only felt a little of the outflow wind. It was still a powerful experience.
