Aperture browser has odd behavior now

I'm trying to get help on the Apple Discussions forums but thought I'd post here as well:

https://discussions.apple.com/message/15815214#15815214

I started getting a strange behavior in the Aperture 2 browser. If I have a thumbnail highlighted then I can no longer scroll horizontally through the other thumbs. Only if I have no image selected can I do that.

At first a library re-build solved the issue, but it kept coming back. So then I thought "this 3.5 year old disk is going south". Bought Disk Warrior, but no errors. Bought a new drive, ran DW again, same problem. Had Aperture do a file consistency check and rebuild the library on the new disk. Same issue.

What are my options now? Thanks!!!!

Ok, convinced now its not a corrupted library or a disk problem. Made a brand new Aperture library and added images. It exhibits the same behavior. At this point all I can figure is to re-install Aperture.

I had problems with Aperture 3 being slower than the second coming after I installed Lion. I did a few disk maintenance actions, but it is still freezing and slow. Let me know if you find anything more helpful.

Dump prefs? Or try opening Aperture with the Option key depressed? Wild shots in the dark ...

Might try dumping the prefs, good idea. Do you know which file this would be? Thanks.

Option key? I know what Command-Option does, but not just option. Trying to resist buying 3.0 just to solve this problem!

2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4G of RAM. Good enough for Aperture 3?

In a lot of mac programs, holding down option key when starting acts like a reset similar to dumping prefs. I'm pretty sure it works that way in Lightroom anyway. And, I have no idea what the name for the pref files in Aperture are, but hopefully Apple did not use something non-standard.

Deleted the plist file and it seems to be all better, with little collateral damage.

Crap. Now it won't update Vaults without issuing errors. I'm giving up on Aperture 2. Bought 3 last night. If this does not make my life better might have to make the painful transition to Lightroom. Sigh.
