Public Gallery Uploading

I didn't post this in the regular customizing, as I considered this more of a hack or trick. I own Soul Gaze Photography, but also founded Southern Kentucky Photographer's Club. Our monthly contests are a pain for me to manage. The members would enter more if it was easier for those with little computer knowledge, even though I created a video tutorial! Point is, I'd love to be able to have a category for SOKYPC where I could put a gallery for each month and the members be able to upload their entries for judging. SOKYPC/Contests/January and so on.

I've searched online and in the forum. I'd only found this:
http://help.smugmug.com/customer/portal/articles/93286

Then tonight I saw exactly what I'm wanting to be able to do on another SM site:
http://carloves.smugmug.com/Upload/uploader/17236218_MFWbkz

If it's not possible for just anyone to be able to do this like that website, I welcome any other ideas. Thanks!

You're right that it's a slick setup. :) It's using the API and this custom script:
    http://www.jrcustomization.com/carlovessmuguploadermulti/upload.php

The upload page is hosted on smugmug, but uses the php script to upload the files and put them in a particular album. Pretty slick implementation.

I agree very slick, but wondering how to implement a similar set-up for my website? I saw the upload page when I adding some of my car photos, which got me thinking about SOKYPC.

You could probably download the upload php script from that site using wget and then reverse engineer it. Viewing the html for the smugmug upload page is simple as you can just view the source html. Then you could make a similar script and upload page.

I found this option in the User Voice... add your vote, it's actually ranked fairly high

Well, I'm still trying to figure out a work around and now there's an awesome contest sponsored/hosted by Smugmug Pro and Bayphoto using the exact technology as that other site and that I want to implement: http://perfectpairsphotocontest.smugmug.com/

Yeah, it's ironic that Bay/SM has one that works, lol.

Their script UI looks remarkably similar to the one I saw before. I wonder if it's the same script taken and modified like I was suggesting. headscratch.gif

That's my thought too. If it's in User Voice, but obviously do-able why isn't it available? I don't have the knowledge to code this myself. I can do basic HTML and some CSS such as what's on my current site. Really wanting to figure this out...maybe eventually.
