Yosemite, Sequoia Part I

Hi guys,


I just got back from a trip to Sequoia and Yosemite National Parks. It was awesome as always. Here a few that I processed. Have a few more that should turn out decent too. Thanks for looking.

Just awesome, Nikhil. Did you plan that sunset/moonset in advance? I'm guessing you did. Those little fuzzy bucks are amazing. Congrats on what looks like a really great trip.

Looks like a great trip. I very much like the two tree shots--the yellows and reflections in #3 are nice and the POV of the sequoias in #4 is great. The deer shot is cute.

Hi Joel,


Yeah, I did plan the trip around the moon. I did not want a full moon as that would set only when the sun rose. A quarter to half moon would set before midnight, leaving enough time to star trails.

Thanks for the feedback. It really was a great trip and i loved 'Tuolumne Meadows' - certainly a different kind of feel to it from the valley.

Hi Mike. There is some standing water. But these shots were taken over the Tuolumne River. I used a long exposure to smooth the water out and make it appear still. Are you heading there anytime soon?

Not planning on it, but that can change at any time...! I was there in June. My next "planned" trip will probably in the fall.

You can keep the Valley. To me the high country IS Yosemite.
